Nh Amsterdam Schiller Hotel

4-star historic Art Deco hotel on Rembrandt Square in downtown Amsterdam

Architecture & Design

The NH Amsterdam Schiller occupies a historic building with restored Art Deco details and original paintings throughout the lobby and corridors. The hotel's interior retains its 1920s character, with stained glass and woodwork preserved from the original construction. Guests entering the lobby step into a setting that combines early 20th-century craftsmanship with contemporary hotel operations.

Location & Surroundings

The NH Schiller is located directly on Rembrandtplein, a square filled with bars, restaurants, and a tram stop providing direct service to Amsterdam Central Station in 10 minutes. Dam Square is a 10-minute walk away, while the Flower Market and Kalverstraat shopping area are both 1100 ft from the hotel. Public transportation includes a tram stop across the square, giving guests access to museums, canals, and the city center without a car.

Dining & Lounges

Café Kuyl, the on-site restaurant, serves artisan snacks and drinks in a nostalgic setting attached to the hotel lobby. The breakfast buffet offers local and healthy options including eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruits, yogurt, and cheeses. Guests can also use drink vouchers received when opting out of daily room cleaning - a sustainability program that rewards guests with bar credits.

Guest Services & Policies

The hotel provides valet parking (surcharge) and off-site parking options, plus a 24-hour front desk and concierge service that offers free city maps and local recommendations. Pets are allowed with provisions, and the hotel supplies earplugs for street-facing rooms due to square noise. Two meeting rooms are available for business gatherings, and dry cleaning, laundry, and ironing services are offered.

Rooms & Comfort

Each classically styled room includes a flat-screen cable TV, minibar, coffee and tea facilities, and a work desk. Superior rooms offer views of Rembrandt Square with small balconies, while standard rooms are compact but well-equipped with toiletries and a sleep kit containing earplugs. Room sizes vary, with some triple rooms providing extra space and bathrooms featuring walk-in showers.
